If You Can't Stop It...

In light of how many abysmal government decisions have been shoved through lately despite massive protests -- the tax bill, net neutrality repeal, the Keystone Pipeline, the Dakota Access Pipeline, among others -- it should be plenty obvious to any Left activist in this country that tired old tactics like petitions, calling up politicians and sign-waving aren't cutting it anymore (as if they ever did).

And when politicians have gotten to the point where they feel they can openly mock and taunt citizens in public media, it can't be any more obvious that it's time for the U.S. Left to up their game and escalate to more revolutionary tactics -- the tactics of real resistance: delay, subvert, sabotage.

It's time for the U.S. Left to stop pretending it can win these struggles by waving signs, dropping banners and beseeching politicians, stop wasting time participating in the meaningless processes of decrepit institutions that don't serve the People, and start gearing up to fight a real war of revolution.

Delay, subvert, sabotage.

The Most Busted Name In News

It sure has been a real shitburner of a month for U.S. corporate media, hasn't it? Aside from other notable debacles last week, the top honors went to CNN for their spectacular self-own involving the wrong date on an email in a Wikileaks trove in its "bombshell" Russiagate report which cited multiple sources -- unnamed, of course. Once the correct date on the email was revealed, CNN's "bombshell" -- like pretty much all U.S. media Russiagate "bombshells" -- turned out to be a big, empty dry fart.

But wait, there's more! After that whole hot mess collapsed, David Frum, senior editor of The Atlantic, added to the hilarity by going on CNN, looking the whole country straight in the eye, and telling us that “The mistakes are precisely the reason people should trust the media." Ohhhh, yeeeaaahhh. Keep fucking that chicken, Dave.

"Bad People": DCMJ Returns to the Heritage Foundation

"Bad People", DCMJ at Heritage Foundation, Washington DC 12.08.17 from Mike Flugennock on Vimeo.
A year ago this week, DCMJ showed up at the Heritage Foundation with the gift of an ounce of weed, which they turned down.

On December 8 they returned on less than 24 hours' notice for a snap demo to greet Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who was supposed to be speaking to a super ultra double-yum secret closed meeting on US drug policy at the Heritage Foundation.

Sessions didn't show, but DCMJ's still got Heritage's ounce of prime DC bud, any time they're ready.

It was during those pure, innocent days -- April 2015 -- that the DCMJ Crew showed up, at 4:20 on the morning of April 15, to erect its first-ever Liberty Pole and begin the DC Democracy Vigil.

The Latest Russiagate "Smoking Gun"

And so, yet another wannabe neo-McCarthyite "journalist" is busted faking it at a major US media outlet. I can't pretend I'm not enjoying this.

This was inspired by an article that appeared this week in Sputnik News which totally shreds the hell out of a sloppy-ass hit piece by Julia Ioffe in The Atlantic about a meeting between Julian Assange and Donald Trump Jr. which was trumpted as some kind of "smoking gun" that would validate the last year and a half's worth of neo-McCarthyite conspiracist freakery.

(apologies due: James Montgomery Flagg)

Now, anyone who knows me will tell you that I'm really not a violent guy by nature at all, but still – I couldn't pretend I wasn't enjoying watching Richard Spencer and other dapper US Nazi big shots being clocked in the street at foto ops. I mean, what the hell; these bastards bring guns to rallies, f'crissake, and Liberals get bent outta shape when some Antifa hangs one on Richard Spencer? Get a grip.

Still, you can't punish the fascists without also going after the collaborators – and Liberal America is right at the top of most decent folks' lists. I've always kinda hoped that once the Antifas get the Nazi issue punched out – look out, Liberals.

Your Home Should Be A Safe Space!

Despite the personal possession and use of cannabis being legal in DC, residents of Federally-subsidized Section 8 public housing are prohibited from smoking in their homes. Because Congress prohibits DC from enacting Tax'n'Regulate and the DC government prohibits public consumption in bars and clubs, folks in Section 8 have the choice of risking immediate eviction and possible imprisonment by smoking in their homes, or smoking on the street and risking arrest for smoking in public, like this poor working-class slob.

It's no wonder Section 8 is often referred to as "prison you pay rent for".

Arizona Hurricane Victim

So, as most of you know by now, Trump has pardoned one of the most horrific excuses for a sherriff in US history, one Joe Arpaio, proprietor of the open-air concentration camp in Maricopa County, Arizona, who was convicted of illegally profiling Latin immigrants for arrest.

Ya gotta hand it to the Orange one; his timing was impeccable on this one -- handing down the pardon just as Hurricane Harvey was coming ashore on the Texas Gulf Coast at about 125mph, and thousands were evacuating inland -- including many Latin immigrants.

To add insult to injury, the Border Patrol and other immigration police kept their checkpoints open to demand immigrants' papers as they fled the storm, leaving "illegal" immigrants in danger of arrest and deportation. Yeah, that's right -- the goddamn' La Migra were looking to nab immigrants in the middle of running for their lives. And to add even further insult, the mayor of Rockport, Texas advised anyone not evacuating to write their name and Social Security numbers on their arms so that their bodies could be identified.

Where the Bush Regime's handling of the Katrina response was merely massively negligent, the Trump Junta's Harvey response is straight-up malicious. It's like the Katrina response turned up to 11.

"Peak Liberal" Featured On The Jimmy Dore Show

As usual, it seems I'm always the last to find out about stuff like this. Still, better late than never...

Back in May, the always razor-sharp Jimmy Dore Show featured my "Peak Liberal" cartoon in an episode discussing Liberals' insane obsession with their Russia conspiracy wankery in the context of the then-upcoming "March For Truth" held in Washington, DC this past June.

As Jimmy points out, the look, attitude and overall idiocy of Liberals' public events openly displaying their cracked-up freakery is a classic case of "life imitating art".

The Democrats' "Donut" Meme, Annotated

This cartoon was inspired by the latest in a series of lame, insipid Democratic Party memes in the tradition of "covfefe" and the immortal "Love Trumps Hate".

This week, The Nation magazine published a bombshell article that basically blew the Democrats' Russian Hacker conspiracy wankery clean out of the water. According to a team of IT experts and digital forensics specialists, there was no Russian hack at all, but a good old-fashioned home-grown leak, an inside job by somebody with a thumb drive or other portable media who simply copied the data in question and just walked out with it.

And if that wasn't worthy of a "woo hoo" from those of us who aren't cracked out of our minds, this curt, elegant editors' note from The Nation made it even more delightful. I felt a disturbance in The Farce -- as if a million Liberals cried out, and then were silent.

J20 Defendants' Solidarity Posters

Crimethinc writes in their Call For An International Week Of Solidarity, July 20-17, 2017:
We are calling for a Week of Solidarity with the J20 defendants from July 20 to 27, 2017. July 20 marks six months from the initial actions and arrests during Donald Trump’s inauguration, and on July 27, a motion to dismiss the charges will be argued in court. The case has finally begun to receive the media attention it warrants; with this court date approaching and the cases underway, this is a crucial time for a second Week of Solidarity.

On January 20, 2017, thousands of people came to Washington, DC to protest the presidential inauguration of Donald Trump. In the early morning, blockades shut down security checkpoints and discouraged people from attending the inauguration itself, while impromptu marches and direct actions occurred throughout the day. There was a spirit of defiance in the air.

Midmorning, an “anticapitalist and antifascist” march of several hundred people made clear its opposition not just to Trump but also the system that made Trump possible... After about half an hour, the march was brutally attacked by police, who used chemical and crowd control weapons along with physical force, then boxed in (“kettled”) and mass-arrested people. Everyone on an entire city block was arrested and given the same charge of felony rioting. Approximately 214 arrestees now face a total of eight felony charges, including conspiracy and destruction of property. All of the J20 defendants are now facing up to 75 years in prison.

Anyone who's been paying any attention at all to what's going on in this country knows that we've got a veritable buffet of issues waiting to be dealt with -- healthcare, civil liberties, the neo-fascist threat, bloated war spending, police brutality, you name it.

So, what's the Democratic Party up to? Yep, that's right -- they're still pitching a tantrum, looking for someone to blame for their abject impotence, their sucking on toast in the last election, with their teeth clamped around their Russian hacking conspiracy theory like a dog with an old shoe.

Still blaming the Greens, the Berniecrats, the Left and the Russians, it's looking like the Democrats are right on track to get their asses crushed again in the midterms next year. They're going to go down hard and I, for one, am loving it.

All you knobs out there who insist on comparing this circus to Watergate, please grab some bench, already. The Watergate investigation proceeded after getting hold of actual evidence; this freak show has absolutely jack, concocted by the Democratic Party nearly a year ago to explain away their aggressive failure. Nobody has any actual evidence of anything -- it's all anonymous sources saying whatever the "reporters" need to make up, Washington Post and New York Times bilge being debunked before the print editions even hit my doorstep... hell, even the "reporters" farting out this waste don't come anywhere even resembling close to Woodward & Bernstein-level investigative reporting.

Last week, after having their asses handed to them on the healthcare bill, Democrats in the House Of Representatives inexplicably, gleefully burst into a chorus of "nah nah, hey hey, goodbye" in response.

This was claimed to have been a sarcastic response to indicate that Conservatives would lose their seats in next year's midterm elections because of their support of "Trumpcare", but it was just another example of the Democratic Party's arrogance, short-sightedness, selfishness, and utter political tone-deafness.

Yer Liberals, No. 3

For the better part of a year and a half, Liberals have been screeching about how Sanders wasn't "a real Democrat", saying he was "damaging" the Democrats and that he and his supporters should leave the party -- and after a year and a half of bullying, public insults, blame-shifting, gaslighting and other abuse, most progressive Democrats and other Left constituencies are thinking that ditching the Democratic Party sounds like a helluvan idea.

Needless to say these days, Liberals aren't getting the reaction they're hoping for from the Left on that point and, of course, the Liberals are having kind of a hard time getting their heads around it. Seems that finally, Liberal Democrats and the Left have reached common ground – just not in the way Liberals wanted.

And by the way, I need to send a shout-out and huge-ass props to Nina Illingworth, one of my favorite Left bloggers, who busts balls with straight raw truth, written in the kind of no-bullshit, smash-mouth style I really dig. A tweet she posted a week or so ago pretty much handed me this gag on a plate. Don't forget to check out her blog, and toss a few bucks in her tip jar if you can. Thanks again, Nina.
