Look Cool; Vote DSA

12 x 18 inch high-res color .jpg image, 1.8mb

It’s all in the name – Democrats first, Socialists second (if at all). If you want to see what the DSA is really all about, just have yourselves a long, steamy gawk at Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. It’s about sucking the blood of the Left by tempting us with fake “progressive” politicians who insist that the DNC is an institution worth saving and wasting our time and energy before zombifying the People’s movements and shuffling them off to the Movement Graveyard. But, hell; my peeps at the Socialist Equality Party and WSWS lay it out a lot better in words than I can at the moment. Here’s a couple of points from the SEP’s Ninth Congress Resolution re: the DSA, Jacobin Magazine & ilk:

16. The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is the initial beneficiary of this radicalization. But the DSA is not a socialist party. It is a faction of the Democratic Party, and its principal role is to block the development of an independent political movement of the working class, to capture the movement toward socialism and confine it within the framework of the capitalist two-party system. Wherever it holds office, this function is on display. In New York, Mamdani governs in coordination with the Democratic establishment and the Trump White House, imposing austerity on the workers who elected him, while DSA-aligned officials preside over the destruction of public education and expanding police budgets across the country.

17. The DSA’s central claim, that the Democratic Party can be transformed from within into an instrument of progressive change, is refuted by all historical experience. It is also exposed by the party’s own response to the DSA’s electoral victories. The Democrats’ “centrist” wing has issued a manifesto reaffirming that its members are “capitalists” and launching a new witch-hunt against the party’s own left.

– “The drive to dictatorship and the political radicalization in the United States”, Resolution of the Ninth Congress of the Socialist Equality Party (US),
posted at the World Socialist Web Site 20 August 2026

…and here’s a quick rundown of DSA escapades over the last year or two:

> Jacobin’s defense of the Trump–Mamdani pact and the capitalist state
> How the Democratic Socialists of America helped sell out the Philadelphia municipal workers
> After NYC elections, Jacobin offers services of DSA to Democratic establishment, union bureaucracy
> Jacobin advises union bureaucracy on how to respond to wave of contract rejections
> Ocasio-Cortez says pro-Palestinian demonstrations should be ‘shut down’

Another "No Kings" Weekend

Inspired by a Bluesky thread about all the DNC astroturf front outfits hogging all the public protest space, and how they plan on exploiting the situation in Minnesota. I’ve seen where the Fifty Fifty One dipshits and their pals are already making some moves.

“SCRising has a strong commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values…”

– even if Those Who Disagree are armed, lawless fascist thugs hell-bent on oppressing, mass-murdering, disappearing and imprisoning us all, and coming after your own personal posh Liberal ass, right out there in the street?

“Good Trouble”? Oh, get the hell outta my face. Would it be safe at this point to discount any opinions from anyone throwing around the phrase “good trouble”? We’re long past that; we need some people with the cojones to start some bad trouble.

And I gotta love their almost pathological clinging to Nonviolence™ dogma even as the State and Capital literally beat them down in the streets. It makes me puke. Yeah – it’ll be “peaceful” until the pigs start clobbering their stupid Liberal asses with tear gas, beanbags and flash-bangers, and anyone who fights back will be labeled an “agitator” and ratted out.

Potemkin Revolution

11 x 17 inch high-res color .jpg image, 1.5mb

We’ve just barely had time to hose down our street from that rank-assed “No Kings” shitfest before we get the news that these assholes are rolling into town on the 22nd of November — a quite apropos date for this shindig as I’ve often found myself wishing for a cheap Italian rifle and a school book depository lately.

This is from the same blast of inspiration which coughed up the “No Kings” flyer parody, and my disgust/amusement at the continuous parade of half-assed Democratic astroturf “Potemkin Revolutions” through my city, such as the latest partisan bitchfest headed our way next week.

Caitlin Johnstone published an excellent Substack piece recently about the flood of fake movements – mostly Democratic Party front groups – hitting us one after the other this year. It’s not just the shallow fakery that’s got me pondering, but how this strikes me as some kind of “domestic ‘color revolution'” blitz by the Democrats. Like US-backed “color revolutions” in Hong Kong or Ukraine, the DNC’s domestic version functions much the same way — divert and waste attention, time and energy and promote US capitalist interests.

It’s not enough for the DNC to suppress our voices in their media and their phony “democracy”; they have to add insult to injury by flooding the public protest space with these inane fake “movements” which cause no trouble, make no demands and constitute no threat to the State or to Capital – and so are ultimately useless.

"No Threat" Weekend

8.5 x 11 inch high-res color .jpg image, 683kb

“Power was not challenged in any meaningful way. The status quo wasn’t disrupted in the slightest. People held up some signs saying the president is orange and that if Kamala were president they would be at brunch, and then went home.

The whole thing was just one big pep rally for the Democratic Party, designed to accomplish nothing beyond getting American liberals excited about the prospect of someday voting for Gavin Newsom…”

–Caitlin Johnstone on Substack, 10.19.2025

For real, Ms. J. I almost feel personally insulted every time these flyers hit the streets in my neighborhood for their goddamn fake-ass astroturf “movement” which seems to roll into town at least once per quarter, as if trying to make a fundraising goal. My first thought was “Christ, weren’t these assholes just in town this summer?” – and we’ve got a whole fresh load of astroturf being rolled out next week, and we haven’t even had a chance to wash the stink off the Mall from the last “No Kings” flag-kissing festival.

Hell, there’s a whole freakin’ raft of these phony-ass outfits that have suddenly sprung up like mushrooms after a summer downpour bouncing around now, and they’re all fronting for the DNC – No Kings, FiftyFiftyOne, local clowns like the Free DC Project – and obstructing real revolutionary change.

LOOK THE HELL OUT for these time wasters.

"White Paper" Revolution

Welp… (siggghhh) another day, another US-cheered and instigated protest “movement” for “freedom” in China, slavishly “reported” by the US boss’ media. Hell, they’ve even got a cute gimmick and a cute nickname to go with it already. The “White Paper” Revolution, the wags are calling it at the State Department, NED, USAID, New York Times, Washington Post, and every goddamn cable news network on Earth, and it’s supposedly all about some Ayn Rand concept of “freedom” from the testing and quarantine requirements of China’s largely successful public health response, which is aimed at getting as close to completely eradicating the virus as they can get — as opposed to the US, which abandoned the population to its own devices to sicken and die of COVID19 to the tune of just over a million people last year.

Freedom, my ass — the freedom of ignorant, Ayn Rand brutalists whose twisted ideas of “bodily autonomy” include no concept whatsogoddamnever of acting conscientiously or making small sacrifices for the public good. It’s the freedom of selfish chuds who want haircuts and ice cream, who want to be “served” no matter what the actual human cost.

This astroturf circus isn’t about freedom, it’s about the likes of Tesla, Intel, Apple and others who are impatient to literally work people to death in China the way they have in the US for the past two years.

Sorry About The Airport

If the fact that this and the previous "revolution" in Hong Kong have been backed by the National Endowment for Democracy and "Freedom House", and the fact that current "pro-democracy" leaders have been peeped meeting with US Consulate officials, and the fact that the mob in Hong Kong have been spotted waving US flags and singing "Star-Spangled Banner" – not to mention that most of the signs are in English – perhaps the fact that the Hong Kong "revolutionaries" are getting big fat shout-outs from Nikki Haley should convince you that the "revolution" in Hong Kong is a massive, bogus US-backed astroturf show.

This past Tuesday, a mob affiliated with the "revolution" in Hong Kong took over the international airport and brought the chaos, confronting police and causing spectacular disruptions in air travel. The real kicker was when the "revolutionaries" spent the next day greeting travelers at the airport wearing symbolic eye bandages in solidarity with an injured comrade, holding signs apologizing for the previous day's havoc. That's right, apologizing. Idiots, why the hell were they there, then? Isn't that the whole point of protest? Hell, that sure was the point of getting upwards of 100,000 people into the streets of Seattle and Washington DC to bring the city to a standstill and disrupt the meetings of the WTO, IMF and World Bank. Disuption was our jam that day, f'crissake; we sure as hell weren't apologizing for anything.

Christ, man, c'mon.

"New Blue" Dark Money Detergent

Oh, sweet friggin' jayzus, what are those wacky Third Way Democrats up to now? Why, they've launched another 501(c)4 "dark money" astroturf outfit, the "New Blue" campaign which, to most regular folks, sounds like a really good name for a brand of laundry detergent -- like, twenty million dollar laundry detergent.
