Jaws 2: This Time, It's Personal

Just when Jeff Sessions thought it was safe to go back into the water...

As you'll recall a week or two back, AG Jeff Sessions rescinded the Cole Memo, which prevented Federal authorities from interfering with the policies of states which had legalized marijuana.

Much to most everyone's delight, Sessions' action seems to have the opposite effect; Vermont passed a legalization law this week, and Massachusetts is continuing with its plans to begin commercial sales after legalizing this past year.

If the sonofabitch wants a war, he's got one. Bring it.
Free the heads, jail the feds.

"Bad People": DCMJ Returns to the Heritage Foundation

"Bad People", DCMJ at Heritage Foundation, Washington DC 12.08.17 from Mike Flugennock on Vimeo.
A year ago this week, DCMJ showed up at the Heritage Foundation with the gift of an ounce of weed, which they turned down.

On December 8 they returned on less than 24 hours' notice for a snap demo to greet Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who was supposed to be speaking to a super ultra double-yum secret closed meeting on US drug policy at the Heritage Foundation.

Sessions didn't show, but DCMJ's still got Heritage's ounce of prime DC bud, any time they're ready.

US Capitol Police Harass DCMJ "Joint Session", Arrest At Least 6

US Capitol Cops Harass 4/20 "Joint Session", arrest several from Mike Flugennock on Vimeo.

Looks like we got more free publicity than we could handle today at DCMJ's "Joint Session" legal joint giveaway for US Capitol employees at 1st and Constitution Avenue NE, across the street from the Capitol.

Although they were set up on DC territory, on the sidewalk in front of the Reserve Officers' Association building, US Capitol Police chose to leave Federal land and come into DC to harass and arrest several volunteers involved in checking ID's and giving out joints.

DCMJ sez "We Won't Go Back!" on Inauguration Day

"We Won't Go Back" #Trump420 Wash DC 01.20.17 from Mike Flugennock on Vimeo.

In what had to be the epicenter of chillaxin' that morning, over 8000 joints were given away legally under DC law by my good buds and comrades at DCMJ at their #Trump420 counterinaugural shindig at Dupont Circle, highlighting the strides made in state drug policy and legalization, and to welcome President The Donald to Washington, DC by declaring that "we won't go back" on the legalization of recreational and medical cannabis.

DCMJ Says "Welcome to Washington, DC!"

DCMJ says "Welcome to Washington, 115th Congress", 01.03.17 from Mike Flugennock on Vimeo.

Yesterday, January 3, the DCMJ Welcoming Committee was on hand at Union Station to greet new and returning staffers to the incoming 115th Congress with leaflets and a little education on Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), Trump's nominee for US Attorney General. This was followed by yet another jaunt up to Capitol Hill to Senators' offices to pass out a letter containing questions for Sessions' confirmation hearings, after which we adjourned to the DCMJ World Headquarters for a good old-fashioned rolling party in preparation for January 20.

We Won't Go Back!

We don't care what '80s nostalgia freak Sen. Jeff Sessions says, we're not going back to the good old days of "Just Say No"... and I'll add no more other than to say that you'll be glad you dragged your sleepy butt out at 8am to be at Dupont Circle to join DCMJ in standing up for legal marijuana.

Rally at 8am, march at 10am. Fans, BE THERE.

This Is Your Brain On Jeff Sessions

Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions, The Donald's nominee for Attorney General, is known for some pretty Neanderthal positions on civil liberties issues, but none are quite as knuckle-dragging as his creaky, shopworn, 1980s "Just Say No Club" position on marijuana. This, despite at least half the states in the country having some form of decriminalization or legalization for medical and recreational use.

#SmokeSessions Returns to #ShowSessions

#ShowSessions on Capitol Hill, Dec 08 2016 from Mike Flugennock on Vimeo.

Like MacArthur, they said they'd return, and they did. As advertised, the "Russell Building Posse" paid a repeat visit to the office of Senator and AG nominee Jeff Sessions to "show'n'tell" his media director the plant and people he railed against with his "good people" remarks about marijuana.

"Smoke Sessions" hits Capitol Hill

And so it was that activists from the DC Cannabis Coalition convened at the office of Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), Trump's nominee for Attorney General, to discuss the Senator's recent remarks that "good people don't smoke marijuana"...

Bad People: An Infographic

"Good people don't smoke marijuana."
– Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-AL, Trump AG nominee

So, roughly speaking, that'd be maybe 60 million people in at least half the states in the country that voted for the decriminalization or legalization of cannabis for recreational and/or medical use? Wow, that's a whole lot of bad people, Senator.

From the latest at dcmj.org:
Donald Trump has tapped one of the biggest prohibitionists in Congress to be the Attorney General of the United States: Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions. Earlier this year the Alabama Senator said “good people don’t smoke marijuana,” and while we don’t know yet if he’ll respect states rights (or DC’s rights since we are not a state) or if he’ll do what John Ashcroft did as George W. Bush’s Attorney General: raid lawful cannabis grows, raid lawful dispensaries, and even go so far as crack down on paraphernalia vendors. Let’s not forget why Tommy Chong went to jail...
